Batik Linut Textiles, is an innovative product that uses sago flour as the main ingredient to design patterns on textiles, pioneered by the Lamin Dana team at Tellian Mukah, under the guidance of the Malaysian Handicraft Development Corporation (MHDC) Sarawak Branch. The word ‘Linut’ comes from a starchy food made from sago flour and is a common food among the Melanau community and other indigenous peoples in Sarawak. Is is processed from the sogo tree, a type of palm tree called metroxylun tree.
